BREAST ENHANCEMENT
- Reasons to have this surgery:
- Many women's natural breasts are too small. These breasts are malformed from birth, as there are breasts that are asymmetrical or shaped like hoses. Mammal glands also tend to frequently shrink after pregnancies or severe weight loss.
- The surgical technique:
- Depending on the individual condition of the skin or glands, as well as the patient's own wishes, the physicians decide whether implant is inserted above or below the muscle. Surgical access is also planned based on individual needs and is either provided through the fold below the breast, the edges of the nipple or the armpit fold. The patient has the option to select the appropriate implant size with the assistance of sample implants as she checks her appearance in the mirror. Today's modern breast implants are made from leak proof (cohesive) silicone gel. The leading manufacturers provide lifetime warranties.
- Procedure:
- The surgery takes about 90-120 minutes and is performed under full anaesthesia. An outpatient surgery is normally performed or after the procedure the patient can stay at the hospital or hotel overnight. Self-dissolving stitches are used during this surgery. Thanks to waterproof bandages, the patient can take showers as early as the second day after the surgery. Patients who have had this surgery should not engage in any strenuous physical activities for 4 to 6 weeks post procedure. During this time period, patients are required to wear a special support bra. The first post surgery exam is performed 1 day after the procedure, the final exam 12 weeks post surgery.
